Que d'or

Rewind to a couple of weeks ago and a lunchtime errand: two last photos of the royal gate at the Palace. It is still raining now... The crown and sun details of the gate can be seen here.

More beauty! Must be wonderful to see in person.

There can be no doubt that these gates were made for a palace.

It's such a stylish way to say "Keep out!".

Bon dimanche !!

Ah, lovely composition. Really like the gold and blue together with the statue highlighting it all.

Oh, I remember these. They would give an 18th Century visitor an overwhelming first impression.

Wow that's a shiny gate, nice shot.

With so much rain lately I'll dare to say that one of the things I appreciate most in the picture is the view of the blue sky! :) But the gate and sculpture are glorious, particularly from the angle you got them!
God bless you!

Archive photos are always precious when the weather gets bad!

You always seem to pass by the most interesting things during your lunchtime errands! I love this gold fence, so bright and shiny :-D

Roger

Wow! Looks at all that gold! It IS gold, right? How do the authorities keep vandals from scraping it off?

The top photo is rich. A glimpse of a statue beyond the golden gates. Good one, Ciel.

Super joli !

I wonder what my neighbors would say if I installed GOLDEN gates like that one?! They're very "fancy Nancy!"
